WALTER L. SMITH III
Walter L. Smith III
Over thirty-eight years ago in a small Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Leavenworth, Kansas, “Little Walter” sang his first solo, and discovered that he had a talent and a passion that would consume him for most of his life — but, he’d never know how much learning would be required to do what was in his heart.. From his first recording contract at sixteen years old in Darmstadt, Germany, with Login Records/Sony BMG, Walter has had an amazing journey of growing, learning and searching for his “exact fit”; and the destination became the “entertainment business” with a strong acumen for management, production and songwriting. At the climax of Walter getting his “feet wet” during his high school experience with the industry, the opportunity to dance on the MTV-Euro Show and to co-write and produce a dance single called “Would You Be Mine”, which ended up in the Top 100 in Europe radio airplay!
From his involvement in several unsigned acts (Another Episode, etc) and singing background for and doing studio work for established Gospel, R&B and Hip Hop acts through the years, Walter found his passion when he finally arrived in Los Angeles (Hollywood), where he had the opportunity to represent talent in film, music (production/publishing), dance, theater, and with several leading industry film writers and producers.
Now, twenty-four year’s after walking away from a major recording deal to follow his call into marketplace ministry, Walter is releasing the a song that was written during the height of eleven losses (deaths) in ten years. The single, Inhabits The Praise, is the first of twelve songs in the future release of the album entitled “Taking the World By Storm”
